McDowell Wins U.S. Open & Second 2010 Major For Callaway Golf

Tuesday, 22 June 2010 12:00:00 PM Pacific/Auckland

When the sun had finally set on the Pacific and the 110th U.S. Open at Pebble Beach was in the record books, Callaway Staff Professional Graeme McDowell was the only player among the world’s best not to finish over par. In doing so, he captured one of golf’s most coveted titles and continued Callaway’s clean sweep of the 2010 Majors. In becoming the first European in 40 years to win the U.S. Open, McDowell stayed the course and watched those around him take Pebble’s best punches. The man from Northern Ireland picked up his first win on American soil by shooting 71-68-71-74 to finish at even-par and win by one stroke. It was the second major championship victory of the 2010 season for a Callaway Staff Professional after Phil Mickelson won the Masters in April.
